Call us ambitious: our goal is to bring a renewed momentum to Italy, through the construction of a nationwide ultra-large bandwidth fiber optic network.
In order to reach our goal, we need to partner with companies that guarantee works, goods and services that fully correspond to our highest quality standards, contributing each day with their know-how and skills to foster the development of our business objectives. Quality, transparency and sustainability are the fundamental blocks of our procurement strategy. This calls for an Appraisement procedure set in place for all our suppliers: an open and transparent system embracing companies and professionals that aim to join our endeavor.
To be a part of the Open Fiber supplier list, candidates must choose one or more product groups to operate in.
Open Fiber implements two distinct appraisal procedures:
- A&B cluster
This is the sector where Open Fiber contributes with its own funding to build the infrastructure in cities and urbanized areas.
Such cluster comprises all services and supply lines pertaining to corporate operations.
- C&D cluster
This represents the sector where Open Fiber is called to build the infrastructure through funding allocated by Infratel Italia S.p.A, the state-owned company tasked with the development of a high-speed fiber network in non-competitive markets.
As mandated by the licensing procedure of works, services and supplies, Open Fiber assumes the role of licensee (C&D) in the construction and management phase of a passive ultra-large bandwidth infrastructure, thus abiding by its own operational handbook that has received formal approval from Infratel Italia S.p.A.
In order to access an Open Fiber tender, (e.g. called for "white spots"), all interested parties must formally adhere to the Access Procedure (ref. Operational handbook).
Access requests will be vetted by a designated Committee which will subsequently inform all interested parties on the status of their request.
Open Fiber informs all operators planning to participate in the upcoming tenders slated for February 2019, that only those who presented a valid and exhaustive acceptance of the Access Procedure before 23/01/2019 at 1 pm will be deemed eligible.
Open Fiber informs all operators planning to participate in the upcoming tenders slated for July 2018, that only those who presented a valid and exhaustive acceptance of the Access Procedure before 23/06/2018 at 1 pm will be deemed eligible.
