Open Fiber: powering the country’s digital future with FTTH technology
Open Fiber was created with a clear mission: to reduce the digital divide and connect Italy through a FTTH (Fibre To The Home) optical fibre network, ensuring fair and cutting-edge digital access for private individuals, businesses, and public institutions. We are building the country’s largest pure fibre infrastructure, based on a wholesale only business model that offers all Operators equal access conditions, fostering competition and expanding choice for end users.

Our goal is to improve the quality of life for people, from small villages to large cities, by offering stable, fast and reliable connections. Our network simplifies everyday life through technology—saving time and energy so people can focus on what truly matters: work, passions, and relationships.
A commitment for all
To date, our optical fibre network has reached over 240 medium and large-sized cities, with transmission capacity of up to 10 Gigabits per second, and we continue working to bring fibre to urban and non-urban areas across Italy. Through our participation in the Infratel Italia S.p.A. tender, we’re also extending connectivity to small municipalities, covering over 6,000 locations with a sustainable and inclusive infrastructure managed by Open Fiber under concession for the next 20 years.
We have also been awarded 8 lots under the tender ‘Bando Italia a 1 Giga’, committing to deliver reliable, ultra-fast connections across several Italian regions, with the goal of reaching every corner of the country.
