Additional and custom FTTH services

Open Fiber offers a range of additional services designed to enhance the connectivity experience for businesses. Advanced solutions to host equipment, optimise network performance, and develop large-scale custom projects, always ensuring security, reliability, and efficiency.

Housing Service

The Housing Service allows Operators to install their own transmission equipment within a dedicated rack space.
The offer includes:

  • Supply of electrical power
  • Cooling systems
  • Maintenance, cleaning and security services
  • Site Surveillance

If Operators use their own or third-party infrastructure for backhauling, Open Fiber provides optic pair, which will be made available in the manhole next to the PoP/PCN. Subsequently, Open Fiber will manage the connection between the external manhole and the Operator’s transmission equipment.

Edge Data Center (EDC)

Edge Data Centres are strategic infrastructures designed to provide advanced connectivity and 24/7 operational continuity. Available services include:

  • Housing: provision of a rack (or part of it) for the installation of the Operator’s equipment, with included services for power, cooling, maintenance, surveillance, and security.
  • Local operation: direct access for the Operator to the EDC.
  • Remote peering: remote connection to key peering points across Italy.

Custom projects

Open Fiber supports Operators in the development of tailored  solutions, following a technical feasibility assessment. Projects include:

  • Smart City: support for the development of digital infrastructures for smart cities via ultra-fast fibre optic networks, enabling advanced services for mobility, urban security, public lighting, and energy management.
  • IoT services: design of networks and systems for the Internet of Things, ideal for various application fields.
  • Other custom solutions for specific infrastructure or network requirements.
